Infant Matters

Infant Matters is a free group for Young Parents and Babies aimed at supporting parents and babies to develop healthy relationships through a 12-week programme. The group offers young parents up to the age of 26 years of age (older parents will be considered) and their infants up to 12 months a chance to meet other young parents in a relaxed atmosphere and gain support from professionals who are there to help. Childcare is provided on site free of charge. Some of the sessions involve both parents and babies whereas others involve parents.

Parents and their baby will attend 12 weekly sessions involving Infant Massage, Play, Childhood Development, Speech & Language, Calming & Consoling Baby, Parental Stress and many more fun sessions that parents and babies are sure to enjoy.

Some comments from parents on previous programmes include:

‘I have learned that there are others in the same boat, that I am not alone and that we can support one another’

‘I feel much more confident about parenting and that I am doing the right things’

‘My baby has made lots of new friends with other babies on the programme’
