Improving the health of treatment participants

The US National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has published research that shows that equipping addiction treatment participants with skills for dealing more effectively with their doctors and the health care system improves self-care health management and potentially increases the likelihood they will refrain from drug and alcohol use and remain in treatment. A link to the report is available from NIDA.
